High Interest Investment

What type of account yields the largest return? i.e. different types of savings accounts?

I currently have a savings account that only return about a dollar in interest every month. Is there an alternative that might yield more than that and isn't all that risky?

1. Many banks offer high-yield savings accounts. Usually, you need to keep a minimum balance to get the higher interest. Link below for a list of online of savings accounts.
2. Irrelevant. There is little or no difference in rates, unless you hold large amounts in the account and then you are losing interest you could earn somewhere else in an actual investment. Besides, you have just lost a minute of your life posting this question for the sake of a dollar a month. Surely you value your time more than that. "And don't call me Shirley" -Rumack Airplane (1980)
